Dr. Kathleen Akers graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. While in dental school, Dr. Akers was part of the Idaho Dental Education Program and worked as a teaching assistant in the Departments of Endodontics and Periodontics. She also participated in an externship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Prosthodontics. Dr. Akers attended University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for her Periodontics training. Upon completion, she received a Master’s in Science with a Certificate in Periodontics. After graduation, Dr. Akers became Board-Certified in Periodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Greater Houston Society of Periodontists, and Southwest Society of Periodontists. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology.
